First year

Chapter two

 Potions and Slytherin Supremacy

'Hi, Rose', someone said, and the girl turned around. It was Nikolai Krum. 'Hey, Al'  He gave him a high five.  'Mary.'

'Hi, Niko',  Rose said, smiling.

'Everyone's in Gryffindor, then. What a pity. I wanted us to stay together. But if you need help, just let me know.'

The trio thanked him, and Nikolai left.

'He's very nice, isn't he?',  said Mary.

'Yes', said Rose. 'Come on, or we'll be late to Potions'.

They hurried upstairs to Professor Madley's classroom. Some students had already arrived. They would be sharing the class with their Slytherin classmates.

'Come on, make yourselves comfortable' said Professor Laura, at the front of the classroom.  'Silence, please. Everyone quiet down... Yes, it’s the same thing every year. A lot of scared little faces. But don’t worry. Potions aren’t as difficult as it seems. It’s a matter of patience and dedication…  Open our book, Magical Drafts and Potions. Who has already looked at it or read it?'

 Rose raised her hand.

'Very well. In chapter one, there's a simple potion to cure boils. Let's see what you can do.'

The teacher divided the students, placing two Slytherin students and two Gryffindor students at the same table. Scorpius and Evelyn were with Rose and Albus. They worked in silence, receiving the teacher's instructions. Scorpius was doing well and was about to pour the porcupine quills into the cauldron when Rose said:

'No, Malfoy!' The boy gasped, startled, and nearly dropped the bottle.  'Don't put the quills in, now. Look at the instructions."

Scorpius looked at the book. She was right  – he should take the cauldron off the fire first.

'Thanks',  he said, looking at her.

At the end of the lesson, the teacher went from table to table to observe the potions. She congratulated Rose, Scorpius and Albus on theirs and awarded them points.

As the weeks went by, the first-year students got used to the classes and the teachers, and became less anxious. They realized that the ghosts were friendly (except for Peeves, the poltergeist, whom they avoided whenever they could) and that the caretaker, Betzaida Briston, should not be annoyed under any circumstances. Rose shared the dormitory with Mary, Ciola Thomas, Ania Coote, and Serena Finnigan, whom she already knew, because they were the daughters of her parents' former classmates and her uncle Harry's.

'Hey, girl', said a familiar voice, and Rosa turned to see the bright Victorie walking toward her at lunchtime on Halloween.  'How are you, Ro?'

'I am fine.'

'I'm so overwhelmed with these N.E.W.T.s that I don't even have time to pay much attention to you, guys.'  They sat down at the Gryffindor's table.  'Look, enjoy these first years. After the fifth, you stop living.'  Victorie closed her eyes and took a deep breath.  'Are there wrinkles near my eyes?'

'No', Rosa smiled.  'You are perfect always, Vic.'

'And you're always so kind.'

Nikolai appeared at that moment and greeted Rose.

'May I sit here with you?'

'Of course', said Rose.

'Those Slytherin guys are idiots',  said the boy, sitting down.  'I'm Pucey's classmate, but I dislike him.'

'What did he do?',  asked Victorie, looking at the other table.

'With that talk about pure-bloods and that group, the Slytherin Supremacy.'

'Slytherin supremacy?',  Rose asked.

'It was in the Daily Prophet',  Victorie said.  'They’re causing trouble in Muggle streets, playing pranks. But the Ministry is worried this will escalate'.

'Like the Death Eaters? ',  asked Albus, sitting across from Rose.

'For now they don't have that much power, but it's better that they are stopped at the beginning.'

'The hard part is catching them',  Nikolai said, grimly.  'My father said that so far they've been playing pranks, stealing, and terrifying the muggles. Even the police—are they called like this, yeah?—have noticed something strange."

They glanced at the Slytherin table. Rose saw Malfoy talking to Pucey. Their eyes met. He smiled at her, but Rose remained serious.

First Year Chapter 1 The Sorting Cerimony

Hello witches and wizards! I will start to post my fanfiction in english. My english isn't the best. Sorry for some errors. I'm trying. I hope you enjoy it. Let a comment bellow or in my X/Twitter @scorosefanfic

First Year
Chapter One

🏰The Sorting Cerimony

Rosa was so nervous for her first day at Hogwarts. She kept checking a list to make sure everything was in order. Athena, her owl, was already in her cage, clothes, quills, ink, books, parchment... apparently all was right.

“Dad, let’s go,” she hurried him up, dancing on her feet at the kitchen’s door.

"Come on," the red-haired man said, coming in the kitchen. "Where are my keys?" He searched his pockets, then waved his wand, and a set of keys flew from upstairs to his hand.

A woman with brown hair tied in a bun and a red-haired boy appeared as well.

“All right, dear?” Hermione asked.

“Yes, let’s go, or we’ll be late."

“You're a pain in the neck” Hugo said to his sister.

“You too.”

“I'll sit in the front seat” said the boy.

“No way,” said Hermione and the four of them left the house.

🦉

Miles away therefrom, a blond boy was also dealing with his nerves about finally going to the magic school which his parents had attended. Scorpius had already donned his black robes and caged his owl, Chaos. His parents appeared, his father buttoning his cloak.

“Come on, dear,” Astoria smiled. “Nervous?”

“A little”, the boy said.

“Don't worry, everything will be fine.”

Draco Malfoy levitated his son's trunk, and they walked across the gravel to the mansion's gate. There, they Disapparated and Apparated to a deserted street, near King's Cross Station, in London.

🦉

Rose met her cousin, Albus Potter, who was also starting at Hogwarts, and a few other acquaintances. She greeted her aunt and uncle, Harry and Ginny, and her cousins, James and Lily. Ron and Harry loaded their children's trunks onto the train, and Rose got on. She met her cousin, Victoire, who was entering her final year, accompanied by Ted Lupin, now with blonde hair streaked with purple. She wore a shiny Head Girl badge.

“Hi, Ro”, they greeted.

“Hi, Vick. Hi, Ted.”

Ted jumped off the train as Albus got on. They waved to their parents until the train rounded a bend. They found the compartment where some of their cousins were, but it was very crowded. They continued down the train and found another one with only a dark-haired curled girl, Mary Jordan. They already knew each other, as she was the goddaughter of their aunt and uncle, Jorge and Angelina.

“Hi, Mary.”

“Hi, Rosa. Hello, Albus.”

“Can we stay here?”

“Of course.”

🦉
Scorpius met his friends, Evelyn Pucey, Vincent Goyle and Rick Flint, in a cabin. Soon after, Evelyn's brother, Marcel, appeared.

"Did you hear Harry Potter's other son is on board?" Marcel asked. The others nodded. "He'll be in your class. His brother is an idiot, but he looks like a complete troll head."

“How do you know?” Scorpius asked. “You don’t even know him.”

"Look, Malfoy wants to be friends with the Potters. Do you want to be in Gryffindor too?"

Everyone laughed. Scorpius blushed.

🦉

After the trolley witch left, the door of the cabin opened and two dark-haired boys, a black-haired girl, and a blond boy appeared, whom Rose and Albus recognized as Scorpius Malfoy, whom Ron had commented on, in the Platform.

"We heard that Harry Potter's other son is going to Hogwarts," said the older-looking one, with a half-smile. "We've come to welcome him."

“Thanks,” Albus said shyly.

"Your brother has caused a lot of trouble, but they expect more from you, right? I'm Marcel Pucey. This is Rick Flint, my sister, Evelyn, and Scorpius Malfoy. Also first-years."

The girl looked at Rose with disdain. "Are you Rose Granger-Weasley? Hermione Granger's daughter?"

“I am,” Rosa said, staring at her. “Why?” The girl shrugged.

“Hello,” said Victorie, who was patrolling the halls. “Is everything okay, boys?”

The boys said yes and left.

“Pucey likes trouble,” she said to the other three. “Stay alert.” She winked and left.

The journey went smoothly. Upon disembarking in Hogsmeade, they spotted a large figure with a lantern.

“Firs'-years, this way,” said Hagrid. His beetle eyes caught sight of Rose and Albus, and he blinked. “Com' on, com' on.”

Hagrid led them to the lakeshore, where the flotilla was. Rose, Albus and Mary sat in a small boat with Malfoy. He helped Rose into it, and she thanked him. They crossed the dark lake and reached the other side. They climbed up to the castle, and the doors opened. A round-faced professor appeared. Albus and Rose recognized Neville Longbottom.

"Good evening. Welcome to Hogwarts. I am Professor Neville Longbottom. Before the feast, you will be sorted into your Houses: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. While here, your achievements will earn points for your House; your absences will lose points... Follow me."

The door to the Great Hall opened, and the children held their breath or opened their mouths. The four tables were already full, and the roof was a dark sky with stars. They walked down the hallway to the professors' table. The Sorting Hat, old and tattered, was on the stool in front of the table.

"I will call your names. Sit down and the Sorting Hat will select you," said Professor Longbottom.

The first to be called was AcKerley, Klaus, sorted into Ravenclaw, then the Boots, Coote... When Melina Krum was called, there was a buzz, because her father was famous. She waved to Rose as she was moved to the Ravenclaw table. After Lochrin, Luchian, Macmillan.

“Malfoy, Scorpius.”

The blond boy walked over, sat on the stool, and the Hat fell on his head.

“Malfoy… Hmm, Slytherin, maybe,” he said. “But maybe Ravenclaw.” No, Ravenclaw, Scorpius thought. “Why? Too much intelligence, I see… Gryffindor, a need to show courage.” Please, no. “Slytherin!” he announced, and the table on his left applauded.

Scorpius ran down to join his friends... Mayall, Nott, Patil-Volant...

“Potter, Albus.”

There was a murmur as the youngest Potter walked over to the stool. The hat touched his head. “Uhmmm… I see fear of Slytherin. Why? No? Gryffindor!”

The table on the right exploded. The cousins and their brother shouted, "Albus! Albus!" and the boy turned red. Neville whistled, and they fell silent. Next was Evelyn Pucey, who was sorted into Slytherin in no time.

Rose was already so anxious that she couldn't stop sweating under her robes and wringing her hands, looking around. She glanced at the Gryffindor table, and Albus and Mary smiled at her. She smiled back. Looking at the Slytherin table, she saw a brown-haired boy waving. She recognized Nikolai Krum and smiled. He gave her a thumbs-up.
Finally after Ferny Warbeck was sent to Hufflepuff...

“Weasley, Rosa.”

The girl staggered onto the stool. “A Granger-Weasley. Interesting combination. Ravenclaw, perhaps. No... Ravenclaw would help you expand your mind and achieve your great goal, I see. Ah, you want to keep the tradition. Gryffindor!”

Rose jumped off her stool and ran to the Gryffindor table where the Weasleys were shouting. Fred shot sparks from his wand into the sky where the candles were floating.
The last to be sorted was Zabini, Kent, for Slytherin. Professor Longbottom rolled up the parchment and collected the stool. Headmaster Flitwick stood in the head chair.

“Welcome! The feast will begin!”
